Against the person who wants more CRJs for GFK, let me voice my oinoipn. The CRJ is the most uncomfortable airplane of all. I'm just over six feet, and it's hard to fit into it. Also, there's no room for carry-on bags in the cabin. But there's no doubt that the CRJ which used to depart from MSP at 9:10 AM is sorely missed, even if it was uncomfortable. There might be a simpler reason why NWA is reluctant to serve GFK. I've heard rumors that fuel is costly here, and a NWA pilot once told me that NWA often puts extra fuel on in MSP in order to avoid buying it in GFK. That was a few years ago, and I don't know what the case is now. Also, the airport rescue and firefighting in GFK is paid for entirely by NWA and FedEx, whereas it is subsidized in various ways in other ND cities, so that also increases the costs of serving the city. If people are willing to drive to Fargo, where costs are lower, that's just more money for NWA.
