serves both the Sisters of Providence (Mother Joseph Province) and Providence Health & Services. Position has primary responsibility for managing the selection, preservation, processing, and access to visual resources in all formats including print collections, negatives, film, videotape, and born-digital assets in Providence Archives. The incumbent manages the digital asset management system (DAM) and helps to maintain, and adds records to, the content management system (CMS).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in History, American Studies or related discipline with knowledge of photograph conservation and history of photographic processes or appropriate combination of work experience and education may be substituted for a degree
- 5 years Archives experience involving administration of photographic and visual resources, preservation, arrangement and description, reference and coordination responsibilities
- 3 years experience with archival database software required. Familiarity with archival preservation standards and reformatting options
- 3 years Thorough knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Related discipline with archival studies coursework Or equivalent educ/experience
- Current certification by the Academy of Certified Archivists
